FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long is the typical timeline for a project?

The timeline for a baseline standard package is typically a month (about 4 weeks). If you have add on items in your package, the timeline will be extended based on that.

What formats will I receive my final files in?

I will package up your files into a variety of formats suitable for both web and print purposes including PNG, SVG, AI, PDF, and JPG (should you need additional formats, just let me know and I will include them). I will include black, white, grayscale, and full color versions based on the colors in your final branding. The final files will be labelled and organized into files that are easy to navigate plus a PDF guide for file types and how to use them.

How will we communicate?

I use HoneyBook for client portals, communication, and project tracking. This integrates into my email so everything will come across to you through there but you do have the option to go into the client portal to see details on the timeline, past communication, and more. This is where I send proposals and contracts through as well.

How do revision rounds work?

In order to get the most out of your revisions, I encourage getting feedback from multiple sources, collecting all your thoughts in bulk and then sending it my way. Once I complete and send back a new version with all the edits, that will count as a completed revision round and we can move on to the next as necessary.

What does the process look like?

Do you offer website design?

Although I hope to someday offer this as a service, it’s a whole other specialty that I’m not currently qualified to offer. However I do have a couple web designers I highly recommend that I can refer you to.

How do I know I’m going to like the design?

My design process involves in-depth strategy and discussions narrowing down your business’s goals, values, audience, voice, and more as well as visual direction for the design. These steps are in place in order to get me into the weeds of your business and into your head so we can both see a plan for the design before we even begin. Moodboards provide a clear visual direction as well for us to reference, With all this in place plus revision rounds, it avoids surprises with the final concepts.

How does payment work?

I will process a 25% deposit upon booking your project in order to provide security to me in saving your spot. One month after our start date, there is a milestone payment set in place for 50% of the remaining balance. Then, although rarely necessary, there is another milestone payment at which we would process the remaining project balance another month later.

How do you find clients?

My Instagram and TikTok accounts currently are the primary sources for my client inquiries. I have also done some work for local businesses that originated through some mutual connections.

Did you go to design school?

I am fully self-taught aside from a few classes I took at a community college when I was first starting out. I taught myself through lots of practice and trial and error and youtube videos. If you’re looking to teach yourself design, I would say you just need to practice, practice, practice and google anything you are curious about and you’re sure to find a solution.

How much do you work?

I typically work about 40 hours a week with my standard hours being about 10-6 on weekdays. I do work often in the evenings and then off and on on the weekend when I have some tasks to get done.

How do you communicate with clients throughout a project?

I use HoneyBook as a client portal and to send messages back and forth to clients. It is what works best for me especially because it integrates with your email and your client does not need to go directly into the software (but they are able to go in and view project details if they’d like). Plus it allows you to set email templates which is a huge timesaver for when you have certain emails you resend a lot. You can use my link here to get 20% your first year (and I get a small commission, no cost to you!)

How did you choose graphic design as a career?

I’ve always loved all things creative and knew I would love a career along that path. I loved learning the ins and outs of Photoshop in high school and once I realized that being a graphic designer was a viable option for a career, it felt like a perfect fit for me. I narrowed down my niche to brand design because I loved the intricacies of combining art and strategy as well as creating something that represents so much with so little.
